DEUX HOMMES: Up, Close and Personal

Dear iDEALS, after the great effect designer duo "Deux Hommes" caused with the collection they presented on the 29th of October there was a need on my behalf to try and find more about it. Their fans, devided now in two or three different teams with individual opinions were finally all wondering in their heads how the hell Deux Hommes presented a collection like this one. Let me explain my self here: This collection was not bad. On the contrary it was perfect ! You wanna know why it was perfect? Because appart from a very solid concept in the making it was also a different direction from what we all expected from Deuux Hommes. I remember myself when the show was finishED, coming out of the ROOM  thinking: Did I actually like this? It took me days of thinking for the answer and finally I have decided: YES I LOVE THIS COLLECTION and now that I see it "Up close and Personal" I love it even more.  I repeat once again: Deux Hommes are artists.  Here is what Dimitris Alexakis gave me: “Like the two heroes in Luis Bunuel’s “La Voie Lactee” who set out from Paris to follow the sacred route to Santiago De Compostella on foot, we departed from last season’s gallic chic to end up to something “brut”, sharp and linear like the Basque landscape (that gave birth to Cristobal). We tried to find the imaginary line that links Spanish masters through the centuries from Zurbaran and Velasquez to Bunuel and Picasso, only to find a sense of restriction, spiritual angst and sadness in a Mediterranean “ Joie de Vivre” disguise. The shapes became midway anatomic by getting closer to the body, pure and architectural even. Thank you for trusting us”. Deux Hommes

Georgia Chanelca

Dear iDEALS, it was another boring Friday in the city of Athens(personally speaking always). After a full sushi meal with Maria I ended up at the DVD rental store next to my appartment . I checked the new films and I ended up renting Basic Instict 2, which I skipped from watching at the theaters last season. Well, I went home and pushed the play button while undressing. From the first minute I realised that my "two euros-per day" were allready gone. The film sucked. I wonder why a gorgeous woman like Sharon Stone tries so hard to be even more beautiful. ADVICE TO Mme Stone: " Sharon, I really like you, but  when a person like yourself is invited to play a part that had allready been succesful , darling you need to take it easy. Lay back, relax like you did in the film, and think that Basic Instict happened ten years ago and for the second part you are still "Catherine" which means that you have to be cooler...I repeat, you are gorgeous and there is no reason to remind us, we see it! I took a 6 hour beauty sleep and my friend called to invite me to "KOUKLES" where there was an opening. It was the first night of the season with several amazing drug shows. You should go sometime because all the girls do their best to entertain everyone. The apocalypse of the evening was this girl named "Giorgia Chanelka" who appart from singing Nancy Sinatra and Barbra Streisand  she also did Les Rita Mitsuko, which I fell in love with. Her pink feathers smelled of Opium by YSL.

DYNASTY, a reason to be a bitch

Dear iDEALS, when I was a child back in the 1980's I remember once when I asked my mother about the meaning of the word "bitch". She turned to me and and said  in the most calm way: "Something like Alexis from Dynasty". Naturally I got the picture and since then I use the word bitch to describe others of others use it to describe me. Anyway, my friend Dimitris Marcantonatos had his nameday yesterday and held a party entirely based on Alexis Carrington Colby, the studs and the betrayals of DYNASTY. For those who belong in the youth of early 20's and read my blog, they might be wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Well I envy your youth boys and girls but at the same time I can tell you that you lost the chance to live the Dynasty days.I was anxious about Miguel having fun but eventually it turned out that my friend is more able to meet new people than myself. The place was packed and I was feeling unable to breath. Soon after we found ourselves downstairs where we discovered a film projector. It didn't take long to get the rest of the crowd among us. This little project is an homage to Dynasty and it happened between several drinks and cigarettes.  I wish Fotis Sergoulopoulos would follow us and take part in this. The weird thing about Fotis is the fact that it's like I've known him my whole life. He is as sweet as candy and a great supporter of my work.

Lazy Days

Dear iDEALS, after a great lunch with MariaI met my friends Alex K, Miguel and Nikos Ifandis who came among his new work featured in a very vary famous internationl magazine. It was a lazy afternoon really but the birds on the trees kept singing. My friends made fun of me about the Madonna cd I bought. I was late to do it but since I woke up in the morning, the album's second track "Hollywood" kept buzzing my brain. In the evening time, Chrysanthi Rapsomaniki invited me and Maria to this fabulous bar. More details about it coming soon. Among the people I met there was friend/designer Angelos Bratis and Buyer/Owner for FREE SHOP, miss Melissa Metaxaand the new Fashion Editor of Life&Style magazine , Joanna Martzoukou whom I know since my student days.
